the reason the outside sounder activates when you power down is that the sounder has it's own rechargeable power supply. this is meant to activate if the 12v supply to it is interrupted. unless you wanted to get up a ladder and dissasseble the sounder, just let it rip. proves it works , anyway.
 
Put the system in engineers mode and then disconnect the 12v+ in the CIE (panel) then change the keypad using the same colour code as before and then wire the 12v+ back in the panel, put the lid back on then reset at the keypad and its all good without the SAB going off (sounder)

Lol yeah it's all done. Iv even installed a few since! It was only more aesthetics because the numbers had rubbed off the old one!
