If any none Arms members want to know the price of the fittings we are talking about send me a PM and I'll PM you back with the info once I check that your a sparky and not a customer trying to find out what we pay for goods at the wholesalers.

Good idea i just thought it may upset a few of the lad's if we started giving out our discount's etc. My customers know i make profit on parts it is how we make a living, but some guy's could have awkward customers. the link to the arms will be a better idea.
Also let me know if you got that email with the guides attached, if not i will send it again .

Boss usually use NVC Graceland down lighters, nothing bad to say bout them just Finshed a house installed 80 of them and changed all existing for them aswell

I like the look of these, lot's of my customers have the 16 or 28w 2d fittings in toilets etc, i think the Led equivelant's on the link may be worth a look at. the Lumen difference between the 2 lights is quite impressive on page 5.
2D 600w Led 1600 lumens.
What do we think or even better as anyone got 1st hand experience with them.

There a good idea because the fitting I put these in is only rated for 30watt bulb shaped e14 lamps

I think this is going to be a good sticky for us all to bounce ideas off of each other.
Led's are definately the future so we may as wel embrace them and help each other out with experience on the subject.

Dont give me all the credit, we started this together Glenn. The future of LED's is bright (poor joke/pun, sorry). The way I see it is that the EU are banning any form of traditional lamps and the LED technology is almost at the stage of replacing these products with "affordable" replacements. If the big boys of the manufacturing world are spending millions of pounds in research and development, there most know something we dont? The would not invest sssoooo much into it if thy are not going to make a profit, look at it that way??? In ten years time we are going to have new electricians on this forum asking us lot what an MR16 50w halogen is lol.

I have fitted loads of the JCC Fireguard LED7 down lighters but I’m not impressed with the sock over the battery on the emergency versions. My favourites are the Aurora AU-DL10019AW. Handy if you got shallow ceilings. And I got a proper fetish on the go when it comes to LED tapes. Even got the transit van looking like a party bus. :shades_smile:

Just fitted 2 of these today in a small office for a customer! replaced 6 x 50watt spots and it as made a vast difference the light is far superior and also a difference of 232watts and brighter.
Within 5 minutes of sitting in the office admiring the difference, he placed an order for 20 x 1200x600 to replace is switched start's in another part of his company. they really do sell themselves once the customer can see them.
I am just in talks with my wholesaler to come to a deal with getting a batch of samples to put in potential new customer's premises.

Constant current or constant voltage drivers?

Ive been using a bit of 3528 LED strip on display cabinets lately and im unsure which drivers i should be using. Ive been reading you can shorten the lifespan of the tape if its not matched to the right drivers but all the constant current drivers ive seen are to small for the lengths of tape im using.

Buying 3 or 4 constant current drivers instead of 1 constant voltage would work but probably double my costs with the extra labour and materials... anyone got any experience with this?

All the LED tapes I`ve used in the last few years have been constant voltage
