Evening all,

I'm looking for a little advice if anyone can help. I'm one of those late-in-the-day career changers (32 years old), I've completed my level 2 and will be finishing my level 3 in July. I would ideally want to start looking around now for possible job opportunities. Can anyone offer any advice on where to start i.e. agencies, newspapers etc...

Im not sure how 'desirable' ill be as a new recruit so wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at before taking the plunge and applying for my big career changing job. Should I be trying to further my qualifications, if so can anyone offer any advice?

Cheers for you help in advance.

Chris

Qualifications are fantastic as long as they go hand in hand with experience. If you are in a financial position to do so, I would advise contacting a few reputable agencies and registering with them, then go for it.

You should sign up for the NVQ3 and ideally be completing your units using your onsite experience whilst completing your core qualifications at college.

Only you can decide when you are in the position to make the plunge. I did it at 30, but then I was only working a poorly paid part time job at the time, and the opportunity presented itself, and here I am!

Good Luck.
