I have never used these before so forgive my ignorance, I work with swa from 6mm to 185mm. Sometime I get short lengths about 30cm each core to take and strip for scrap are these any good for that purpose

The part that scores down the cable will be most effective from say 50mm (individual conductors) upwards.

The part that scores the sheathing around the circumference is most effective for 25mm and upwards of the 52mm (overall) stated in the link. On AWA cable it will score the armouring sufficiently enough to break the strands.
They are great, I managed to track these down after watching a guy terminating on to a HV transformer.
