Hi, just found this place and hoping for some advice.

I retrained as a sparks and still have to do my am2 site diary. I have been in the trade for approx 4 years and have completed level 2 and 3, testing course, pat testing, 17th edition etc but have been given photocopied sheets for my site diarys with nothing to help how to fill these in and what they require in terms of evidence, photos, calcs etc.

Any mature students done this course? Does anyone know of anyone who has uploaded a site diary, so i can actually see something to get a idea of what is actually required!

i have seen these courses available online and not through my college as 3 day courses where you actually go and install what they need to see and im thinking this is a far better idea.

Any help advice appreciated, cheers jim

Hi, i'm sorry I have little information about this, but was wondering if everyone doing AM2 has to do this site diary. I'm doing mine later this summer, and haven't been told anything about this site diary...worrying times!

thanks in advance

I am in my 4th year of apprenticeship and have booked my AM2. I have done site diaries as part of my NVQ folder but you dont have site diaries for the AM2 exam.

Im currently doing my 2nd site diary. Pretty much writing what they want to hear, there is a set of questions and safety is the key when answering them really. Pictures of you using access equipment, drilling, fixing, safety signs are neccessary. Manufacturers instructions. Basically a bit of everything all piled together, it's a pain but nothing to it once you start.

AM2 and the site diary are seperate things. The site diary is part of the NVQ. The site diary is not hard, but me and half the people in my class managed to drag it out until the last minute.

Just take it to work with you, along with a camera, and when you have suitable jobs get some photos and a signature, and write it up when you get home

And if you're not getting the right variety of jobs at work to complete it then ask your boss to help you out by giving you the jobs you need to get it done.

Also you need to get more help from your college on what needs to be done. They cant just give you a blank site diary and expect you to know what to do!
