This isnt a step by step guide, but a few tips which may be handy(hopefully without confusing you too much
)-
Remember not to bend the pyro too much, especially near the end-it will be a nightmare to strip if its all kinked and bent.
Unless you are fairly good with pliers, I'd use the pot spanner that they will give you (make sure you tighten it well, or the pot will never start)
Inspect the end well at every stage, making sure there is no swarf, or rubbish on the end, or in the pot.
Megger, Megger,Megger! Do an IR test after you have screwed the pot on (slide the seal over the cores, right up so the seal is nearly touching the pot- then they are in the position they will be when finished). Slide the seal back and fill the pot with compound, then megger again. Finaly crimp it up, and megger it again (although its usually too late by now
). That way, you are sure you have got all the important stages right.
Dont bend the cores when putting the pot on, or when putting the compound in. I like to pull on the cores after I have put the pot and seal (partly)on, so I know they are dead straight- thee isnt much space between cores, and bent one will mean they will be touching.
Dont blow the crap out of the pot!
Do you have to measure the pyro the correct length?
Edit- just looked at the Wiki- the bloke tells you how to do it without pyro tools! Lets hope they dont expect you to do it that way mate!
