As above, can anyone recommend a make/model of metal housing to accommodate only an rcd? I'm guessing too, that these will require a metal cover if used in a domestic setting?
 
most scheme providers would beg to differ.
Tend to agree, and with BS7671 being a bit vague on 'similar switchgear', who else can you ask for advice, unless you think you know better. Carry on installing stuff regardless, might make you look a bit wanting if the authors of BS7671 confirm what the schemes are suggesting.
 
Ok, not many suggestions then :confused5::confused5: NICEIC Tech helpline today confirmed their inspectors expect metal enclosure with metal lid (doesn't have to be self-closing) in the scenario described in my o/p, in order to comply with Amd 3.
