When to fill out an NICEIC today, and let’s say, it’s interesting?

...........impressions!

Sounds like it could make the simplest of jobs far more complicated and time consuming, making legitimate sparkies more uncompetitive, more distrust from customers and more work for the cowboys. The world's gone mad. :goofy:

Nah not really more complicated. I filled out my first amd3 EIC on the third of the month. The inspection schedule maybe took 10 minutes maximum longer than usual.

As far as I am aware, the notes for the EIC, still state that the form is not to be used for the inspection and testing of existing installations, or something similar.
As such, using an EIC to inspect or test any of the existing installation, would be a non-compliance.
Only the NICEIC would advise their members to do something that contravenes the standards we are supposed to be working to.
Anyone know where I can download some BS7671 Visual Inspection forms?

All the forms are now on the IET for download. They are all combined in one PDF with guidance on the inspection schedules and relevant regulations.

Forms for electrical contractors - IET Electrical

Interestingly enough there is also a promise of fillable electronic amd3 model forms to come.

I believe it is now possible to conduct the Visual Inspections from the comfort of your own home or office.
Simply by using Skype or Face Time, you can get the customer to walk through their home while you watch out for anything dangerous.
