I want my old AVO 8 back.......was big...was bulky...but never let me down....!!
there's a few going on ebay. i've got a avo8 mk5 and a avo 7.

I wouldn't recommend an Avo for regular site work, they're a nice piece of kit but just not very suitable for day to day use.

what would you recommend?

Most of the work we do is bms so continuity tester is all we need.

It was more for occasional site work (very, very rare) or own personal eventual if digital is picking up odd readings

Do people collect old analogue test equipment? If so I have a 1964 (I think) AVO8 in very good condition leather case, an AVO 10KV DC multiplier, and a more modern Megger wind up insulation resistance meter, also in very good condition leather case. I saved these from being scrapped when we were decommissioning all the analogue TV transmitting equipment, but they've been sitting in the shed for ages. If anyone wants them, a small donation to Hayling Island RNLI and they're yours.

How much would you like for one. Id like to grab an analogue tester

Hi: They will probably be around the ÂŁ20 mark with new batteries installed, unfortunately the leads won't be original as they're way too pricey, Insured carriage will be about ÂŁ7.99. But as Marvo has pointed out they are a bulky piece of kit & nowadays more suited to workshop use.
