i) tests for insulation resistance to be undertaken on a 230v circuit contaning surge protection devices which cannot be disconnected. -I am i being dumb here? Phase-Neutral and Phase-Earth

ii)The test Voltage- 250V

Thanks

Test across L-E, N-E and L-N, or L+N-E @ 250V, as the SPD is connected across L-N, L-E and N-E

Min resistance at least 1Meg Reg. 612.3 (BGB)

Just be careful to refer to 'E' as the Circuit Protective Conductor, 'L' as the Line conductor not phase conductor, and remember that Neutral is a 'live' conductor......City & Guilds will have you in anyway they can!

If it can not be removed then connect L and N together and test to earth @250v, note it on the test sheet as limitation.

It is for the 2391, they may, depending on the centre, want the full test sequence.

You can never tell with C&G
