In case u don't know I'm on level 2 2365 and i posted some work of what I'd done on a job, here are some more, I wanted to keep it all in one post but I couldn't add too it

You never know an employer could be looking

It's not much anyway

Swa to a garage giving it a light and sockets for washer, dryer etc

Yes those are stuck to the wall then tie wrapped, it wasn't till after I read they fall off after a few days

Just a question on your first picture.

Why isn't the cable just straight instead of coming down then across then back up into the socket?

I didn't do to the CU or from, main man wired it, i did all sockets and cable from the double socket all the way down to the bottom of the garage, I never actually noticed what u just pointed it, he had to show me a little and then let me loose

Good eyes

Customer was very happy which is the main part

Good work mate especially seen as your in ya first year, a few things I would have done differently is I would have tried to come out of the top of the consumer unit for the power circuit then across till vertical with the socket then come down then back up and back across and so on I just think it would of looked more aesthetically pleasing (would of used more cable though) and the clipped cable i would of put the nail of the clip at the bottom (just how i was taught at college) also mate on the spot I'm sure that the outer sheaving on the cable (gray bit) should be in side the enclosure of the termination point as now the cables have lost part of the mechanical protection don't know if it is against regs but i have always been taught to make sure outer sheave is a little bit inside the accessory

Thanks for your input

Like I said before the main man put I'm the CU, he did the first lot of cable coming out if it to show me then I did the rest, drilled all sockets, wired them, clipped cables and helped with the light

I'm not sure where u are looking regards to the sheathing not been inside the enclosure, it should be should be inside it you are right

Update

Think you are referring to the lights in the last pictures?
If so I don't know, that's how he showed me how to do it
I don't think it's possible to put the cpc inside the enclosure/termination box , that's why we used wagos, so until I'm told by others how to
Do it, then I only know the way he showed me

Yes in the very last picture of the spot light if that was how you was showed then by all means do it I'm just going by what I was taught lol but either way mate looks really good keep it all up pal, also your links to the assignments don't seem to be working when I click on them

I'm like a puppy haha I just do as I'm told.....well I have my limit so can see all so not sure what's not showing
Can you see my college work?

This is my with from tonight although the second ring is not finished, only had 20/30mins to do what's in the last pic
And yes I can see the gap in the socket, that got changed

Hi chris, a lot wrong there m8, I know your training so will be gentle. The sockets in the garage should have been tubed in plastic conduit really, the sticky pads are not designed for 230 volt power cables and that is dangerous IMO, Not now but in 2 weeks time when it all falls off, next the wiring to the downlighter, I don't like exposed cabling like that M8, that should be enclosed in a JB or preferably a Wago box so only the grey cable is showing, next the twin and earths entering the lightswitches are crossed and not clipped properly, I would have had 2 stuffing (TRS) Glands myself where the 2 cables entre side by side and clips side by side. Your a good lad and doing well, just a few pointers for the future fella.

Mike

as above, that garage job cries out for some conduit. with care, mhe ribs in the concrete can be drilled and plugged for saddles.

He's right as usual, but just a note, beware when drilling precast concrete, sometimes you can hit air pockets, and this will eject small concrete bits and dust out under a fair bit of pressure as you drill due to the heat generated. it isnt funny if they go in your eyes, i speak from experience, so wear safety glasses.

Cheers.................Howard
