hi All
I’ve been browsing here for a little while and there is some great advice!
I’m not a qualified sparks but worked as a mate on & off mainly with my cousin ( qualified industrial spark) and other sparks through work wiring 3 phase control panels for industrial machines on site and in the field. I have a basic understanding of domestic regs and am currently refurbing my recently bought 1978 detached house. I have a local sparks booked to do a periodic safety inspection as a starting point. I dont believe a full rewire is required but some of the layout & consumer unit will need upgrading. A new kitchen is going in and I’d like that to be on a dedicated ring. Outside lighting also needs a tidy up. I am capable & confident of extending ring mains, radial lighting etc and am happy to do all the first & final fix but will leave testing and inspection to the professionals as well as notifying building control as may be required.
I’m here to help improve my understanding of what is and isnt allowed to be installed by the homeowner. Tia
