Hi everyone,
doing a domestic P.I.R tomar, had a quick look on friday and noticed an external supply to an out building wich was s.w.a, feeding a garage type c.u. in a workshop, three final circuits, sockets, lights and an additional socket further up the garden supplying a pond pump also s.w.a, its a TT system and the sub main is protected by an r.c.b.o installed at the main fuse box position,
would it be wise to install an additional rod at the workshop c.u.?
I know it should have been a s type for the sub and 30ma at the workshop, thats what i would have done,
any thoughts ?

Thanks " sunburnt jem "

On a TT system, the more rods the better!!!!

Don't drive the rod in, close to the workshop walls, that's where all the rubble is going to be!! Rubble + earth rod = bad rod to soil contact...

Thanks engineer54, looks like some footings there aswell, its a wooden stucture, ...so additional rods wouldent efect the r.c.b.o.? or am i barking up the wrong rod !?

Your barking up the wrong rod!! What it will do is hopefully reduce the current Ra value and more importantly help stabilise the TT system.
