Any divers/freedivers/spearfishing amongst us?

Just hoping to see if anyone's shares a great passion of mine... Scuba, Freediving and spearfishing.

im off to Iceland in April freediving between the fault line of 2 tectonic plates, I'm 100m visibility.

So, anyone tried it? Do it?

Never ever scuba-dived. I fancy giving it ago, but its finding the time.

Id love to give it ago but around here theres only a manky old canal and I dread to think whats in there. One of my dreams is to someday do a cage dive with a great white shark swimming around (outside the cage hopefully). They are my favourate animal.
I might give it ago in the great barrier reaf when I emmergrate to Aus.

My dream is to have a pillow fight in a sunlit field during a fine summers day with daisys and butterflys everywhere...in my new flourescent pink y-fronts with the lads.

Haha no mermaids yet.
Yeh Iceland will be amazing. Ive always scuba dived but im really getting into diving without tanks. (freediving) with scuba..its over in an hour...freediving maybee 3-4 minutes at a time.... But you get out when u want to. Feel free as fish

without tanks...guessing means without oxygen supply....

...you can hold your breath for 3-4mins :O floody, you absolute monster. I struggle 30seconds haha.

Everyone can haha its just unlocking the skill.

Try this NOW ok
Lay down on ur bed
Breath calmly for 2 mins untill you are completley relaxed. Get a song ready to play on your phone. Take a big breath breathing from your diagphram, hit play on the songand hold your breath for aslong as you can.

When you have little purges making you want to breathe, just ride them out for as long as you can, its a temporary sensation and IT DOES NOT MEAN U NEED AIR.

Once u do need to breathe, breathe out as much as u can and hit stop on your song.

Check how long you held for. You should be around the 2min mark. Its all in ur mind.

The song takes u away from thinking about the time. Your next breath hold will ALWAYS be longer.

Only just seen this thread, but I love scuba diving. Been doing it for a few years now but I dont get much chance to do lots of diving. The guys keep asking me if a want to go to Egypt to dive but I cant afford it and I dont want to be away from the kids for that long. The missus told me I spend the £1,700 needed to go for the week, but when I get back then she will spend £1,700 and go away for the week... If I was single id be diving a lot more.

Ahhhhh the old misses dilemma. You know how i got round that... I took her to Egypt for a week and on the first day i introduced her to snorkling...then mid week ee had a boat trip on a reef and we snorkled off there...then got her to scuba dive at about 10meters for about 20 mins with an instructor. She absolutley detested diving and water before we went...now shed love to go it again.

My advice: have a holiday to egypt and go when ur there. Cheaper...and the misses wont know any different

Been discussed mate. I have more change of getting Kelly Brook to join in our rumpy-pumpy sessions than I have of getting her to go into water where she cant touch the bottom (with her head still above the water that is)
Ill have to stick to diving in the UK. Mostly dive quarries like Capernwray, Hodge Close, Eccy Delph

Try Chepstow quarry, its amazing. Brroken planes/cars/tanks/busses etc at different depths. Even a gnome garden lol

I'm not a diver, but as a biker I have been up to stoney cove in stoney Stanton just outside Hinckley at that is the same a flooded quarry full of cool stuff

Sounds like Capernwray has a plane you can swim through and lots of other things to swim round & through. Delph has a tank, boats, a small plane and an AA gun (which I have to sit in everytime I see it, and pretend to shoot down planes) and they both have gnome gardens. Max depth is just over 20 meters, But Hodge is 30 & has a cave system at 25 meter.. never been in yet...
Chepstow Quarry looks nice, but does look like i a bit of a treck to the water.

Stoney cove you park at the waters edge, it's got a sunken tug boat, plane, memos sub, some sort of welding box. To top it off there's a pub and a dive shop.
