any good books

hi iam doing a domestic electrians course level 2 ,having been a chef for 10 years and have no experience of this trade, so can anyone suggest any good book to help me
ive got the on site guide ,electricians building regs,17th edition

I have just done my level 2 and got Trevor Linsley Electotechnology 2330 level three off amazon . I hear he writes the questions for the city and guilds on his books . Worth a try. Good Luck.

was it hard to do level 2 has i have no experience in this field and could you give me some advice ,thanks lee

Its not to bad once you get your head round the maths and the book is a big help. I wish somebody had told me about the book from the begining.

If you are doing the EAL VRQ level 2 concentrate on chapters 1 5 and 10 of the building regs get to know them very well and what each part of the building regs are ie part A structure part B fire safety etc etc know them of by heart. With that knowledge you will pass the exam.


Dont waste your money on more books anything you dont understand post on this forum thats what its for. Save your money for the beers when you pass

Did the VRQ myself about a year ago and got 100% from knowing the above.

I would recommend the IEE Guidance notes as a good investment.
