Hi All, completely new to the site and to the electric world, so plz be polite lil bit.

I am currently studying accounting, but It seems to me very boring and difficult. I would like to be an electrician so does anyone know any good college in London with affordable fee?

Thank you.

Electrician is a religion, you either love or hate! Not always fancy, taking insults on the chin, must thick skinned, put the effort in, always do your very best and never ever cut corners! For me, I love it, no other work gives me the same satisfaction. Now what was your question again? lol I am sure with good research you will find a good college, however, if you really want to enter this vocation then please please steer clear of the short courses. They will put your foot in the door but the door won't be fully open until you have worked the long road, be it apprenticeship, adult trainee et al! Good luck and remember to keep smiling and always ask questions!!! Too much vodka and now I am rambling lol

MKS, lol u must be a funny man. I would like to do it coz my two brothers are qualified Electrician and work in India in big projects. I know some colleges in london and i ll contact them on Monday. can you guyz tell me what is this apprenticeship?

thx again.

An apprentiship is basically where you get a job in the industry as well as go to college and do the course, That way you gain a practical knowledge as well as the theory knowledge. IMO it's the best route to take. But I imagine it's going to be hard to get a job in the first place. The tutors at Hull college are always saying how good they are, (But then again I suppose they would). But they were good imo.

exactly youngbart, I would love to get a job where i get some experience, but u r right its very difficult to get without being qualified. there are alot of qualified geez without job, so how can i get. let me take first this admission then we will see.

thx

Holy Crap.
You're in the same boat as me.

Im on level 3 AAT, and I cant do it no more. Ive got 2years on site experience, but need qualifications to get paid well as a spark.
I do enjoy it; shame the company I was with went bust, there goes my good money.

Havering Is charging almost 1800 for the l2 2330 :|
