I feel so lost at the moment... I can't find work anywhere :uhoh2:

I'm currently doing my 2365 Level 2 but since work has dried up through the agency I'm now in a bit of a predicament. I have my own tools and PPE etc but no work!

Does anyone know of any sparkys mate positions going?

Many thanks in advance!

It frustrates me that all the trainees in here struggle to get work because you are all as keen as mustard. I just wish you lads were a bit closer to me, I would really try and help you out with a few days experience.
I would think one of the most important things is try and get your driving license and transport because that way you're not hampered by distance although I would think london was the place to be.
Keep searchung and don't give up mate.

The market appears to be too saturated here mate. Well, that's just my outlook on it. I'm so hungry for it but i haven't had any luck on my search for the past 2 weeks. Just gotta keep looking without getting demotivated

Have you tried getting a list of all the contractors in and around your area and ringing them all, this is the 1st thing I would do, then get some flyers made up and go round wholesalers and ask if you can leave a few on the counter, Just a couple of things to start with, also what experience have you had and in what field ie Domestic, commercial or industrial.

Keep looking and something will come along. It will be worth it in the end.

Best of luck to you with it all. :)

I havent contacted many contractors in my area. I've merely just been registering with as many electrical agencies as I can in addition to checking all of the job sites on a daily basis. Good shout though... I should contact every local contractor to see if they're recruiting. Is there a particular site where I can see all of the registered electricians in my area? Instead of just through Google or whatevr?

You can check the niceic site and other schemes or just go on yell.com and search for contractors that way.

If you go to the competent person website Competent Persons Register | Home
then you can search for people registered with self certification schemes in various fields based in your area, remember it is not just electricians, plumbing and heating companies and maintenance and site services all use electricians and are therefore worth contacting to see if they may need help, which you are willing to offer.

Good luck.

Thanks for the sound advice mate, appreciated! On my CV I've stated that I've been on site for four months as opposed to 3 weeks lol. I don't think i can really say a years site experience cos they'll know I'm lying once i get on site cos I'd know nothing! Yeah I've tried all of those job sites but new sparkys mates jobs only arise on them like twice a week buddy, the rest are old positions
