Leepato

Hi I've applied to join NAPIT and was wondering what type of questions they are going to ask when they come to inspect my work? I've gone through everything they ask for books, qualifications, insurances wise but would just like a heads up and what they want to know. Cheers

Great, comfortable with the testing procedure and the disconnection times of mcb's and rcbo's. any other things their looking for?

Hi Leepato, I joined December and was asked what type of fuse a BS1361 was and something else I can't remeber, but not difficult(also was told I could refer to books, if needs be). I then had to do a Zs on a fused spur. Not as painful as I thought it might be, me being a newcomer

Hi Lee,
When I had my first inspection I was asked a few questions, one being tripping times for RCDs and min values for insulation resistance testing, then I had to talk thru ring main testing. As Dave said make sure you have all the relevent paper work, they usually send you a document of all the required paper work.

Cheers dave I seem to have them all in place ready.

Doesnt sound to bad then des. I'll have a brush up on fuses before they come out to see me. How's it going as a newcomer? Have you done much advertising to get work?

Hi Lepato, not done any advertising but I only did a course because I was waiting for a new contract to start(we do voids for the council) I've only fitted one CU and notified it today so we'll see how it goes, I think Napit are fine though and any queries are answered quickly. Good louck with it
