I would think you would struggle to find a laptop NOT using ssd these days.

Please bear in mind that I started this thread in Feb 2016 and laptops with a HDD were a premium price - more than I could justify.

I have an early model SSD (only 64G) , X-laptop drive .
Comimg up to 2500 Hrs and 1000x power cycles .
All the wearout stats I understand -appear rock steady !
(so much so -may be lies) But ,
-- Media_Wearout_Indicator , is beginning to baloon --
10x size it was at 700Hrs .... I think experiment ends soon !

Not as bad as thougth
2% WORN at 700 Hrs (had a long grace period-little wear)
9% WORN at 2000 Hrs (Taken off shopping list)
