i completed a course in december 2009 and im just wondering if there is anyone on here that was on the same course,if so wondering how your getting on in the trade?

it was very intense thats all i'd say, perhaps they could have been a bit more thorough. 2392,part p,17th edition it was a Domestic installer pack that i had done there all the same quals you get anywhere on a domestic course, wish i had done the fully qualified though as i would be in work now

Are you confident to work on electrical systems or do you still feel a little short of competence

i still feel a little short to be honest. once i had finished the course it was pretty much bye bye from the training provider so they didnt help me out that much! i wouldnt advice people to train with them.

Tom.. with out been rude how much did you pay for that course and what was your backgound before??

the industry is hard up at the minute and with a hugh influx of Domestic Installers combined with laid of JIB/Factory lads taking up part p (or not) then demand for a spark is pretty low as we are available in our hundreds..!

glad you still plodding away though mate keep chin up and smile..!

it was around 4k. I had done a bit of everything to be honest with you. i wanted to do this for a while though and when the oppertuninty came up i took it. i know i didnt realise it was going to get a lot worse other wise i might have not bothered,i tried getting apprenticeship but no one was looking, my brother in law done same course in london and he's doing fine up there
