Hi All,

I was stripping wallpaper today in my hallway.. When i came across this.. Some kind of Square box?

[ElectriciansForums.net] Anyone Know What This Is?


When i touched it it gave me a shock.. If i turn the breakers off for the doorstairs lights then its no longer live? ANyone know what it can be?? Or anymore info?

end of day the chap got a belt from the wall where an accessory box seems to be buried! steam stripper and fluke test kit out the window in my professional opinion!

the box needs to be resurrected from the wall and terminated properly if not removed!

end of post end of rant on this matter!

looks like its been shoved back in and had plaster shoved over it, I find a lot of this in particular in Hotels and Backpacker hostels,etc....and also see plugs and swithces removed and pushed behind a cheap plastic blanking plate, left live.....one place I know of, and its massive...used to be a Student halls of residence and the owners and the maintenance man "dont know where any of the wires go to or come from" its all either old T&E in the open or wired through black enamel conduit....some of the DB cupboards and plant room areas are like a bag of knitting wool thats been through the washing machine...
