Anyone offer any advice on this ?

Hi everyone

Iv got an assesment day with Laing O'Rourke next wednesday to do there electrical installation appreticeship with them. Was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice? Iv got to do a ten minute powerpoint presentation on why I have chosen this career path and why with Laing O'Rourke, with enthosis on health and safety throughout.

I was thinking that I would include :-

- How I was introduced to the industry
-Why I chose this trade
-Why I think a 4 year apprenticeship is the best way to train
-Why I want to do it with Laing O'Rourke
-Why I think I am sutible <<(Include health and safety here)
-The benefits of it e.g pay, good training

I was just wondering if anyone could give me any other pionters on what I should include?

Any help would be much apprieciated thankyou.

Had my assesment day today, think it went well, we will see what happens! thankyou everyone for your help and support and alarm man the apprenticeship is with crownhouse but laing o'rourke own them now will be sure to let you all know when I find out !

When I was working on a gas pipeline being constructed by Laing O' Rourke they were using a Health and Safety "Take 5" card where they were asking workers on site to stop for 5 minutes to take a look around them at their surroundings and see if there were any concerns they could report. These were posted into a box at the site office and at the end of each month a card was pulled from a hat and that person received an award in vouchers etc.

Laings were MASSIVE on Health and Safety....

Hey well i think I have .... I got a phonecall the other day saying well done I had passed, but I have to do a test now with B.E.S.T so i dont want to go saying I have the job yet just in case , hopefully I will be able to give you a proper answer on tuesday when I have my test.

Allright everyone, I can now tell you all that I got the Job i past the interview a few weeks ago but had to do another test with B.E.S.T so I didnt want to say I had it incase I failed the test, but I recieved a letter today saying that I was successful, thankyou for all the advice and support everyone.

Now time to get cracking and im sure i'l be asking plenty of questions in the near future .....
