Hello

I have q. We have ar111 12v 100w lights originally fited in kitchen but 100w produces to Mutch heat I changed them to 75w lights and after that they keep blowing 3/4 lights every week. Installation company told me that I can't use 75w only 100w because of the transformer??

You have been informed by the installers that because of the nature of the transformer(tx) that you cannot derate the lamps, you have derated them and the don't last, I suspect you may have a common tx to all lamps and the voltage is reflected by the maps fitted so fitted lower rated lamp would increase the voltage and dramatically shorten the lamp life- it would be kind of conclusive to me that info you have been supplied is accurate if this is occuring but not whe you had the 100w in, refit all the 100w and if they last more than a few weeks then you have your answer and would need to change all of the fitting(s).

I haven't installed these type before and this is only an educated guess, and was the reason in the past with old terroidal multi-output 12v tx's that if a lamp went you needed to replace it asap as the voltage would increase to the rest of the lamps while it was out.
