Discuss Argument settler in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

I don't see why people can't understand this. If the sw and feed for the actual lights is at the first switch then it could be wired so that there is always a P live to the opposite end. If they run a 4c they will have P live (common), strapper 1, strapper 2, N & CPC. There will be a key switch for each EML fed from the P live, N and CPC. It's a little unusual but is that any reason not to do it this way?

CPCs left out for clarity.

Does anyone know of any free software that would let me draw something like that out on the computer?

Better to have a single keyswitch for all EM lights in the PL as it leaves the first switch.
This would be OK for an inital install but as a modification think about the level of rewiring that this would entail since the switched supply to the normal lights is now at the opposite end of the building, you could of course use five core and have that core just transferring the SL back to the start of the switches.

I was just determining that it could be done this way as it seems to be what the op as getting at re: his colleagues side of the argument. In no way am I saying I would do it this way, of course it would be more realistic to run a 5 core or a separate cable (depending on current state of affairs), especially seeing as materials doesn't seem to be an issue.

No reason at all, it makes sense to do it that way.
