Can armoured cat5e cable be run in the same containment as power SWA?

Or can anyone recommend a cat5e cable that doesn't need segregation.

If the insulation of the cat5 cable is rated the same or higher than the voltage off the operating SWA then its ok.

To be frank although I know different containment methods are proscribed by BS7671, I have seen cat cables lashed over flourescents CAT II fittings recessed in suspended ceilings all over offices and so on. No one has ever noticed or complained of degradation of signal. I sometimes harbour a rather sceptical view of the idea that signal will be affected but that is just me.

If you're particularly concerned then use shielded Cat6. Just remember to also use grounded jacks/plugs.
