I have known a couple of electricians that have died from asbestosis, both were involved with the mixing of asbestos powder to lag pipes. I remember them saying you could not see 1 meter in front of you at the time and you could not breath properly. They had no masks to protect them. This went on for years. I just can't see how the bit of asbestos at the back of a fuse carrier can be that bad.
its not just asbestosis that it causes, the other big one is mesothelioma, like a cancer of the lining between the lungs and the muscle.

well this place i used to work at....they got this builder round to sort a load of asbestos sheets out that had blown off in the wind....there he was cutting these sheets down with a stihlsaw....there was clouds of this dust going out of the factory and onto the road.....and i mean clouds of it...lol....

Most CB’s and contactors use white asbestos cement. Unless you’re going to star attacking it with a grinder it’s fairly inert. There’s still 1,,000,000’s of them out there, so if you’re that worried, you’d better find another vocation.

theres asbestos everywhere still,is it as dangerous as people say...1 fibre can kill so they say, people worked with it every day for years and have not suffered..some have,is it asbestos related we'll never know,
No we can fairly certain it's as dangerous as the medical advice suggests. Because every NHS patient diagnosed with plural plaques, asbestosis or mesothelioma has a note appended to their medical file instructing the coroner to conduct an autopsy when the patient dies. As a result the cause of death can be accurately stated in each case.
