I have a compressor to be hard wired into a zone 1 container. The container has a 3 phase + E supply but the compressor requires a 3 phase, N & E. This is not something I have experienced before within an ATEX installation and when researching there is a few discussions on TN-S, IT and TT grounding where neutral and earth are bonded together. Can anyone pass on any advise when it comes to this situation?

You cannot just combine the Neutral and Earth from the compressor and connect to the container earth, this will send the return current from any single phase load down the earth wire.
It's somewhat unusual for a compressor to need a neutral, what kind is it and what is the neutral used for? If it's just to run a 240-24V transformer for control voltage, then you could likely modify the compressor to use a 400V transformer. Keep in mind though, any modification to equipment in a ATEX zone will likely have additional regulations.
