Hi guys, am looking to buy a holesaw kit and an auger bit set, just wondered what you guys think are the best makes or value for money?

Thanks

Craig

If you are just doing general domestic work then a 20 & 25mm holesaw is a start.

As you start to fit down lights then purchase one the correct size fir the fittings.

As for auger bits, i wouldnt bother.

Great idea but a good sharp flat bit is much better.

Got my holesaw kit from Aldi, 3 years on and its still going strong. Added to it with the odd one or two sizes not in the kit.

Auger bits and flat bits are a total waste of space, first screw or nail you hit and they can go in the bin, in fact dont use them just chuck em straight in the bin anyway. The Irwin 3 pointed bits that screwfix sell are awesome, had mine 2 years and they still got through joists like they are butter, about £40 a set if my memory serves me right. I was wasting that much on auger bits a month.

Cheers.....Howard
