Hey guys, new to this and just looking for some info really. I have recently just got to Australia, in Queensland. I am waiting to get my electrical licence sorted. I have a job already and they are sorting it out. I'm on a 457 visa for 4 years. My TRA has just been lodged now that I have a residential address. I'm booked on to a up skill at the end of the month in Adelaide for one week. I assume this is just the same as the 17th edn course? From this I will be issued my licence is this correct? All help will be great. I'm sure there's a few people have been or are going through this process. I'm just confused as to how it all happens. Seems weird that I haven't had to do any practical exams what so ever :/ the company say they use Adelaide as its a loop hole. Anyone??? Cheers in advance guys.

Well I saw a tv programme about 2 months ago which must have been filmed about a year ago The spark went out there and had to work as a mate and do an extra year in college! Mmm
I always think about moving to Oz as I love it there! I would also like to know about this process matey??

Cant help you with the Oz electrician bit but having lived/worked in Adelaide for a couple of years rather you than me going there! Something about if god had put an ars*hole on the world map he would have called it Adelaide. Enjoy!

Now you live in Newport and make a comment like that about a beautiful city like Adelaide??

Can't make my mind up: trolling, delusional or are you on something??????

Oh and by the way, I'm very familiar with Adelaide too!!

He's right, you obviously aren't very familiar with Adelaide's underbelly are you?

It's a lovely looking city on the outside, but dig a little deeper and you'll realise how dirty, corrupt and criminal that city really is. I heard a statistic once calling it the heroin death capital of the world!?

They reckon the Melbourne underbelly was the worst but this has been cleaned up - which is why it's now rated as one of the top 3 most liveable cities in the world.

Adelaide is not helped by the fact that South Australia is now very rich due to their huge mineral wealth - money always attracts criminals!

We don't appear to have the wealth anymore but our large cities can still boast to have a huge drug problem and a growing organised crime issue!
