B&Q installation work

Good evening all, i have been approached by a local firm who have the B&Q installation contract. i have seen a list of the prices etc but am struggling to find any information on whether doing this is any good. just wondering if any of you guys have done anything like this and whethe it is good or not?

thanks!

You've seen their prices? Lucky you, I've been trying to get my hands on their price list for years!
Something you may want to be aware of is that all electrical work carried out for B&Q has to go through NAPIT. Even if you are registered with another scheme, you still have to notify via NAPIT. This is a rule of B&Q and to my knowledge there's no way round it.

i'm based in norfolk.

oh right so even though i'm registerd with Elecsa i still need to notify via napit? this sounds confusing :) .

to be honest the price lists aren't great, there is a very good chance of not making or even losing money through it. i have heard them installers tend to get bad names for themselves. i'm starting to think that maybe i'm better off just leaving it

They were featured on Watchdog and had bad press!!!!

That is B&Q people still waiting for bodge jobs to be finished after over a year or so. Funny once featured on Watchdog the customers had excellent service and all bad work put right.

Yeah some sort of scheme running between B&Q and NAPIT to ensure work is carried out properly and notified. NICEIC have something very similar running with Homebase.

most belong to different lodges. nudge nudge, wink wink, roll up trouser leg and shake something.

I have heard bad stories about B&Q
My neighbour had B&Q in (whole job thing) and was told it was £75 for a certificate when I told them to ask for one
