Hi All

Iam 26 and have been working along side an old school spark in his early 60s

Both been doing separte jobs i had to run a 6mm SWA from the dis board into an isolater to supply an AC unit. I was using one of those swa cutters like a (pipecutter) can use a hacksaw but thought i would give this a go and you do get a good cut from it.

i then finshed then carried out testing on the circuit i just done and filled out all the forms.

The old boy done his nut and said if you turn it on and it works its ok. Also how i should have used a hacksaw to make the cable off and put vaseline on the end of the terminations both on the board end and isolator end. Have done that on fuses in the past but not on cables

Any thoughts before i throw him off the roof

Thanks

Its not his age its his mind set, I know supervisors older than him that would fire him on the spot for energising without a test, and I know engineers 20 years older than him and still working (effectively I might add) that would very quickly inform him of his error and what they thought of him.

Like I said its a mind set not an age thing

Sounds like his hacksaw would be made of stone. Does he wear animal skins too.
Stick to your guns with this guy and dont take any rubbish from him. He will feel threatened by your youth, but at 26 you must have a reasonable degree of experience by now...............it would seem that you have more than him anyway.
