Bathroom Extractor fan - isolator

Hi all,

the isolator for a shower fan, does it have x2 separate supply and load terminals, one for the switch line and the other for the overrun?

on your normal Fan iso switch you'll have


L N SW (supply side normally top)

L N SW (load side normally bottom)

if you look at the switch it should be clearly indicated.

A fan isolator is a three pole switch one perminant live. One switched live. And one neutral.

Sorry guys, one more question, do I need a 3A fused spur as well as the isolator?

It depends where the power is coming from for the fan? From the lights? Or a spur off another circuit?

even if fed from the light, manufacturers instructions may call for a 3A FCU. you would then have to fit this so as to fuse down bothe the perm' and switched line. i.e. in the feed to the light.
