Thanks for that , I like it. Could they be used instead of a 3 pole isolation switch that every one loves? L N + SW + Earth

Yep.... these 4 terminal ones are usually used for emergency lighting

There should be a CPC at all points on a fixed wiring system.
Class 2 items should not be earthed.

It would only be the same in theory as the 2 core flex in a pendant. You could take an earth in a flex to a class 2 fitting if you wanted to as long as it is insulated in the fitting. A butt crimp should do this.
T+E is different as sleeving does not constitute insulation, but these klik roses are designed for flex anyway... it's your choice.

thanks...........the one in previous post for L N E only. If no earth required at the fan, could it be used or would that be considered just plain bad practice?
No there should be an earth to the rose, the picture I showed was just to give you an idea what we were talking about, I would like to think you were intelligent enough to know you would need a 4 pole unit for the switch wire feed and neutral.

If it is a TN* earthing system with negligible impedance between the earth and neutral you don't need to have isolation for the neutral, therefore if you can just switch the switch live and permanent live using a double pole switch or spur unit.
