Bathroom Light/fan switch

Hi. I have remodeling my bathroom and last thing to do is change the light switch so it's white instead of cream. The old one works, but appears the new one will need set up differently because no matter what config I use, I either get nothing, it starts to turn on the quits, or the light and fan both work at the same time when I hit one switch. I am going to try to upload pics to show old/new switches. The outlet box has 1 each red,white and black wires, a bar copper wire, and some sort of steel wire that was twisted onto the copper wire. The biggest difference I can see is the spacing between the screws, and the newer box has a green ground screw attached. House is from the 1950s. Thanks so much for any advice.

Jon it appears to be 2 different switches so the reds go on one side of the switch and the blacks go to the other side. Whites should be tied together and the naked wire goes to the green screw

He only has three wires red, black and white. One must be hot in the other two out to the light and fan.
On the old switch is there a tab connecting the terminals where the white was connected.

Can you show clear pics of the terminals on both sides of the old and new switches.

I believe the new switch has the two terminals linked by a tab, the terminals you can see on the pic the other side doesn't. Connect the white to these linked terminals and the red and black to the terminals on the other side.

Good eyes Westward I couldn’t hardly make out the pictures and where the wires went
