Becoming a moderator

How do you become a moderator on this forum?
Do you: ?
1/ have to be invited
2/ Drink down the pub
3/ have to post more than a certain number of posts
4/ partake in some obscure nocturnal ceremony
5/ Purchase web credits
6/ be an honorary member of the associated ebay bloggers convention

Think we need some sort of moderation where if 2 or 3 respected members state a post is spam the post is removed and the spammer suspended.

I seem to spend ages (normally in the mornings when I'm meant to be doing paperwork / quotes etc) reporting various spammers!!

Strange question which leads me to think why are you asking. Having had a few talks with mods I'd wonder if it's worth the sometimes massive headaches it would bring. All in all it's a hard job at times and most times done pretty well.
Hats off to them imho

Yea I have to admit we are blessed with good mods!!, it's a thankless task and we have the fairest out of any forum I have ever been on!!, I would offer my services if the chance came up but only on here and only because the members on here, all in all are a good bunch. Unlike some forums which are full of gobby keyboard warriors!!

It is nowhere near as easy to choose a mod as you may think.

We take all applications seriously, and decide on suitability.

It isnt just post count, but frequency and time of visits etc.

And i will say, it isnt just me who votes


Having said all that, we will be looking for a new mod soon, and members that have already applied, will still be considered.

i'd do almost anything to get my status changed from serial poster, but become a mod?? too much responsibility, interfere with beer.

you get paid buttons the cheap ones from ther coop not the expensive cadbury ones

as for wanting to be a MOD NoThankYou way way to much hastle They do a lot of stuff thats not seen and do remove SPAM, Sellers ect when its reported BUT It needs to be reported they cant survey every post my moto See Spam report it BUT if it looks usefull ie a service people may use agency ect Tell the poster to contact mods re sponsership of forum as without sponsers like those ones over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> there would be NO forum
