not going to rock the boat over fast track courses as i know people who have done them and i also did a few my self..!!
regardless of what type of course you do you will still find proplems that may be uniquie to that property only..! you never know what has happened to the wiring in 30 years or 30 minutes.
if you want to enter the electrical trade i would be very sceptical about fast track 17 day wonders and look at breaking the course down to suit your developing needs..!!
first start!!
17th edition wiring regulations and a theory / knowledge based course..
BTEC Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation| Home Study
City & Guilds 2330 Electrotechnical Training Level 2
i did the btec as it was entry at level 3 and it covers the exact units as the 2330 and was a lot cheaper..! took me 17 months to complete
at same time you may find that getting experience working with local houseing associations is a good step, i used my leave from the navy to work with 3 rivers housing in durham.
secondly when employed in trade consider doing a NVQ 3 2356 course, some thing that your 17day wonder wont give you.
Delta Electrical Training Ltd | Electrical Training Courses, City & Guilds Electrical Courses, NVQ 3 2356, EAL Part P Courses, Lancashire
bear in mind that this qual wil cease in September!! no more enrolling after that date!!
then look at doing testing and inspecting if you really need!! personally i would miss the 2392 out and just do 2391 as it saves money but the course is hard and the failure rate is HIGH!!!!
in total i acquired
2382 17th edition
2391 Testing And inspection
2377 PAT Testing
2356 NVQ 3
Btec Advanced diploma Electrical installation
and i paid much less than many would do for a 10-20 day course with some providers!!! it has taken me 2 years to get what i believe a good footing in the door but i also had 4 years industrial elecy knowledge from royal navy
