Tidy Max
As with any specialism there's ups and downs! Most of the time i hate being domestic but there is definitely money to be made.
I have gone through a couple of years of basically price honing, i feel i am now at a point where my prices are right to ween off the customers i don't want and keep the ones i do. My main issue is getting the work in but that is entirely my own fault for having no marketing in place!
As for the main benefits everyone who knows me is always surprised at how multi skilled i am. I think most of my mates think all we do is sit and strip cable and terminate sockets. The fact i can plaster, paint, lay carpets amongst building anything out of unistrut, conduit, trunking, then doing the majority of work to my vehicle and also running the business side of things!
I am often jealous of other trades such as plasters and carpet fitters though, whos material list you can count on one hand! Such a simple life!
