Hi all forum members, i'm interested to know any good UK apps beneficial to electricians,so far I have found a good one from draka for cable sizing and a few ohms law calculators, is there any free ones out there which arent US NEC code.

It's there I've got it

It's about discipline, it's lunch time so now I can look at my phone, but it's amazing how much information at the touch of a button, just a sign of the times I'm afraid.

And to add to the thread - I'm very dubious about icertifi it looks a decent app but I think it needs some tweaking. - at £20 though it's not worth the risk

I know someone with icertifi for the IPAD, its ok it goes through pages and you just fill out all the info.. Like you would on a normal cert then when your done you sign it (With your finger) and it emails you a PDF file with your test cert with all the information filled in

There's lots of good electrical Apps for electricians out there now and it seems like a good excuse to justifying getting an iPad or an Android. Anyway I've been doing some research and have posted some info here: http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/category/electrical-apps-for-electricians/ . Does this forum have an App yet that I can add to the list?

The GRIFFIN case for my iPhone is the business, theres a utube vid of them testing it, just short of bullet proof. 18 quid off amazon. Took my phone out the other day and still new. The case isnt having been in a sparky pocket for 14 months but fairing well!

I just bought my first fancy phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) today and came on here to ask about sparky apps! Glad to see the thread has already been started...

Can't see myself using the phone to fill in certs, too much of a faff, but I can definitely be tempted to get a few apps to do cable calcs etc...

There's also an Adiabatic electrical App for Android. Enter your values and the app will carry out the calculation for the minimum earth cpc sizes. Helps eliminate errors and saves time.
There's also an App for iPhone called 'The Adiabatic Equation'.
If you're studying they'd be good for testing your own calculating skills and for exams, if you could sneak your mob device in!:ninja:

The most useful app I have on my phone (Android) is 'CamScanner'. Take a picture of anything and it converts it into a pdf, I use it for receipts, plans, diagrams, stuff you scribble onto plasterboard like readings and cable ID's etc. Obviously then the previous paper (or plaster!) document can be saved, emailed, sent to the supplier etc.

i've just got that sparkyapp, it's alright but I did notice mistakes, so not sure how much to trust it!

looking at icertifi, it's not updated to amendment 1 yet, and it says it's changing to 6monthly subscriptions for £25. reading the reviews it doesn't look great, has anybody got any reviews on it?
