Nope, Go for GE1857 :)

Why?
Because when we've referred enough people we will actually get a nominal referral fee :) Don't know how much or when ... seeing as they get an admin fee of about £45 / year per regsitered system, with 25,000 on their books, they'll get £1m or so a year in fees, and they spread the love around :)

You only get referral payments if a customer signs up to GE for supply, unfortunately you do not get referral payments for a customer signing up for FIT payments.

British Gas pay very quickly and haven't had any issues with them.

British Gas currently have a 6 week backlog on Fit applications, due to an increase in applications.

Anyone applying for the August 1st 2012 deadline would be best advised to choose an alternative Fit provider.

Is this likely to be a problem? When does the FIT date start? i.e. if your install is done paid for and submitted well before July 31st but there is a 6 wee back log does this mean you don't stand a chance of getting the 21p FIT price? If so then isn't the cut off date effectively 6 weeks ago?

No. FIT submissions to British Gas FITS department made before the deadline on August 1st will be processed, but with a 6 week delay.
British Gas may not be the best place to submit your FITS application to right now as they have a very big backlog of applications.
There are many good alternative FITS providers out there, who settle payment on time.

Your FIT payments should start when the provider receives your paperwork, so you must make sure it is all correct and you have included all paperwork that is required.
If a provider has a six weeks to process your paperwork and all is not in order they are within their rights to return it to you for you to correct, therfore you could miss the deadline.

I hope this helps.

It is the date that they recieve a valid application. Hence the advantage of using some of the people mentioned here - you can talk to them and make sure all is in order!

Stuff you need to enclose with your FIT Application
1) A Completed Application Form
2) Copy of your MCS Certificate
3) Proof of Ownership
4) Proof of Indentity
5) If a company / charity / partnerhsip / other, then letter of Authority to enter into the agreement
6) Your EPC
7) EPC Declaration (Often part of the Application form)
8) Multiple Site Ownership Declaration.
9) also remember Meter Reading on date of submission / completion of the form (not before)
