I am looking at getting a laser to help when marking out downlighters but not sure what to get.
Any suggestions ?

that+tape/ruler/big foldable square does the job better, in my humble opinion.

got a basic diy quality green bosch laser too, almost any will do but need to have an option to let it running without internal balance circuits.

Cheapest one you can buy. If all you want is a straight line between two points do not bother with an all singing all dancing self levelling one as it will make no difference.

But if you want a self levelling one, i use ad owuld recommend the Bosch GLL 2-50.

I have the Bosch GLL 380 P, I like it because it has 3x full 360 degree laser lines which means you doing virtually anything with it. Ok it was pricey but it makes marking down lighters and sockets etc a breeze. I know a type measure does the same, but anything that makes life easier. FFX do very good prices on most stuff.

Stanley fatmax is what I have, great bit of kit just make sure you get a pole not tripod then it's easy to do any height
