I have milwaukee 18v sds coming soon , i will drill so many 5.5mm holes for all you uncertain tool guys to have dip and feel something

i know a guy that has the 18v combi

he is an idiot. he bought the 1.5ah version and wonders why his batteries dont last as long lol

i got 3ah makita battery and another guy has 4ah dewalt

I am working for one of the companies listed (unfortunatly I cannot tell you which one as this is confidential). I do product comparisons on a daily basis, and I can tell you with certainty that DeWalt tools are over priced and of a worse quality than the majority of the other tools in the same product category.

Hello!

Jiff the new boy here, I just thought I would let you see a picture of my latest addition to my tool kit. Hoping to get long service from this baby!!

[ElectriciansForums.net] Best Powertools brands around!!

Going to be in a shed load of trouble when the wife finds out.......

I used to do power tool repairs years ago. Had all the brands in for repair. Depending on the size of the wallet that is! Makita had the edge over all the others. Panasonic had the best gear-box but very pricey. Metabo were pretty pig-ugly but would take a right beating. As usual Bosch were up to the job. The 2kg SDS was a great buy and easy to sort if it went AWOL. I remember when Dewalt brought out the range of cordless drills, they were ok but had loads in for warranty repairs on the brush carriers. BTW they were just re-badged and colour changed B&D's!!!

Got Makita, Bosch & Metabo now plus a cheap and cheerful JCB (???!!) SDS hammer I picked up to knock the **** out of the kitchen!!

that's clever. I like that!

I've had my dewalt 7years, it's going strong. Batteries don't hold charge as good as I would like, but it's still really decent!!
i also have a 36v Bosch 3 function which I love.

In my opinion , Dewalt are ok , i had all the dewalt gear when it first came on the market , and then changed everything to Makita, when that went lithium. and both are of equal standard, a very negative point is that the Makita batteries are very poor. i have Hilti which is superb but expensive, and i also have a Bosch 24v and 36 v which are good work horses. I have in the last year started to replace bits with milwaukee, and in my opinion the 18v comb FUEL is the best combi ive ever tried by quiet some margin.

whats wrong with makita batteries?

the new ones with the star on them are good and hold there charge (fingers crossed)

I have 13 makita batteries in my garage and all dead and i am currently trying to get makita to change a few as a good will gesture.
I still have loads of makita stuff so im not totally against it , but it is common knowledge that they had a problem, and as you pointed our the new ones have a star on them , this in its self tells you they have changed because of the problem.
But personally im changing to milwaukee as i think the FUEL range is a far better system. but everyone will have an opinion, im just basing it on dewalt/bosch/matikita and milwaukee as these are the tools i use.

eddie i agree that there is a problem with the older batteries but im going to wait and see how these new star batteries last.

guys replica makita batteries wont work on star drills (3rd gen and inc all brushless).
