Hi everyone im just wondering what the best tools are for chasing out brickwork etc for cables to sit in.

best tool is an apprentice. failing this, hammer and chisel. if it's rock hard, SDS drill with rotary stop. if dust is not a problem, use a chase cutter.

tried a scutch once. all the teeth broke off. looked like my grandasd on a sinday morning before he took his gnashers out of the domestos

It has a dual blade you can set depth has two handles total control can attach a Hoover gotta be hilti for quality suction and it'll cut through anything I hope Santa gets ne it for Xmas does pay if you have loads of chasing to do.

Was just wondering as their price is sky high thought there might of been some super special features.

I'm using one at the moment which has 2 blades, depth setting, 2 handles, constant speed controls or something that keeps the blades going at full speedand cut out if the blades get jammed. Attach any decent powered commercial vac and the rooms left dustless. Only cost 260 quid aswell.

When looking to buy at first I did see most of the brands only cut upto 30mm in one pass which is pointless most of the time as you cant fit the capping in

The Hilti one can do a chase thats 46mm wide and 40mm, deep very useful when putting in two conduits side by side. The only downside of the machine is one the initial outlay the second being it weighs a ton!!. Still I wouldn't have bought any other, the ones that look like a 9in angle grinder with two blades scare the crap out of me. Worth the money
