Hello,

Behind a tiny door in our under stairs cupboard we’d like to build a miniature room in which a little light would come on when the door is opened.
The door is about 12cm high
No power so needs to be battery operated.
I thought about those PIR USB LED lights for cupboards which would work but the light would ideally be hidden, lighting from above. I’m guessing the PIR can’t see me if I can’t see IT. Or do they also react to changes in light and dark?

Anyway, any ingenious suggestions gratefully accepted.

To do the room justice I think you need to make a minature light switch using a teeny weeny lever switch wired in 5mm surface mounted conduit to small warm white LED on the ceiling. Obviously your going to need to make a tiny consumer unit containing a single sub-minature circuit breaker and a couple of lithium hearing aid batterys to supply it. Should keep you busy for a while.... :)

battery powered PIR light. only a few quid and no wiring or switches required.

Now then Tel, you've been quiet again. Hope all is well.
not been on for a while since having a partial hip replaced ( the ball on top of the femur because sawbones could not fix the break close to the joint ). need some muscle exercises to get the legs working better.
