Hi guys anyone using a bipper van for work ?.I mainly do domestics (currently have a connect but awful on fuel) it's only about 4 inches shorter inside and same width. also with front seat down you can get 2.4 m in.My mate the plasterer has one ,(yes i know they only carry a bucket and trowel) .Cheers

I have a few vans and one is a Peugeot partner on a 14 plate and I can honestly say I wish I never got it. Vans alright, good on fuel etc but it useless for carrying tools, stock, steps, etc. It is just to small, the back gets tidied up every week then when you look for something that you know is on the bottom the whole van gets turned upside down and stays like it for the rest of the week lol.
I also have a transit custom that IMO is brilliant and just the right size, plenty of room in the back for what I need, 3 seats, easy enough to still get in to car parks etc. I think MWB vans are about the right size for an electricians needs and personally wouldn't get another small van again.

thanks Lee ,I realise a mwb van is ideal but I spend around £70 ish quid a week on diesel and if I can save maybe £25 and all i am losing is 4 ins of space in the back ,then maybe worth considering. as with any van you have to keep on top of it ,tidy wise and make full use of racks etc

I had to google the Bipper van, I'd never heard of one and haven't seen one on the road either. From the pictures they look similar in size to Renault Kangoo. I guess it depends on what area of electrical work you do, I drive around in a normal car for work but I mostly work on control systems.

^^^ Well that saved me asking. ^^^

“What van do you drive?”
“A Blipper.”

I’d crawl under the nearest stone to hide my embracement.

I have a transit connect and find the fuel consumption to be pretty good, how many miles to the gallon are you getting? I'd agree with Lee and say the custom is one of the best bets, big enough to fit everything in but not too big that it can't get into tight spaces etc, and the 3 seats over the 2 comes in handy on more occasions than you'd think, defo the next van for me, drove them in previous jobs and they're a pleasure!
