Yeah, it’s been a rough few weeks but on a positive note, the Moderators haven’t needed any bail money or had to hide any bodies.

The forum generates more revenue from ad clicks by having more new members joining up and more five week wonders scrolling through endless threads. Get rid of the experienced guys providing good advice in a few threads and get more threads going where the blind can openly lead the blind without fear of getting ripped to pieces
In a nutshell the last part of your statement is correct, anyone who can't post without ripping someone to pieces is not welcome. It was a joint staff decision to outlaw to outlaw abrasive posting behaviour and make the forum manageable again, the forum owner had nothing to do with it.

and it opens up more space for ads, thus more revenue.

It's just a business decision.
There are no ads for any member who's in the Arms or above. The only people who see ads are guests and standard members.

As stated previously this isn't up for debate any longer, for those who can't be civil other forums are the place to be.

This will be the first and last comment by me in this thread, regarding the banning of several of the big posters they were banned for either abrasive comments to other members and staff, swearing at other members or staff or just insulting comments in general which can't be allowed to happen on a public forum, it is nothing to do with adverts or revenue.
The members that are currently banned will be free to return when their bans are up and will be welcome to return to the forum as long as they realise that the very things that got them banned will not be tolerated again. there's nothing complicated about it really.
