hi guys, tested a mobile milkshake trailer a few months ago. well client has now come back to me as they have been refused entry to some events, because in my test report I added that as the trailer was an import and used american cable which may not conform to british standard. in my obs I added this should be changed. can any one offer advice on the whole cable issue? have spoke with a couple of NIC standard inspectors I know and was told it shouldnt be a problem as long its identified.

The insulation voltage rating of American cables will be similar to that of UK and Europe, generally 600V. They don't just use 115V over there, they have in fact several voltage bands such as 240V, 480V, among quite a few others. That shouldn't be a problem.

If you want confirmation of that, ...go to an American cable manufacturing web site and see for yourself on general building cables !!
I think you have enough information now, to attach an amendment/appendix to your original Cert!!!
