It could be the result of over-zealous or over the top specifications by the local council, i’m sure we’re all familliar with such specifications

Is that pyro going to that socket or is it just some funky long gland or shroud you use in the UK?

Most likely FP200 which for some unknown reason some people who use it insist on fitting pyro shrouds over the stuffing glands.
The use of FP200 as a general purpose cable is unacceptable in my opinion, but sine people seem to think it is a ‘one type suits all purposes’ cable.

My money's on FP200 as well, although I was more interested in the idea that someone had deemed it necessary to bond the metal handrail; I suppose both could be examples of over the top specification.

When I worked in a factory it was SY which was used as the 'one size fits all' cable, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't nearly always installed badly, with the braiding hacked off before it entered the compression gland. Presumably they did it because the directors expected us to be able to fart out an installation at the drop of a hat by cobbling things together alla MacGyver. Motor tails on machines, 3 phase sockets, HiBay tails, alterations to the lighting in the admin office... All botched together with whatever SY was lying around.
