Hi I wondered if anyone could help out!

What are the regulations for a boiler in a wet room? the room is about 3 x3 with the shower in one corner and the boiler in the other, its not in touch distace from the shower but being a wet room does the total floor space become the shower try??

The property has 16mm main earth and 10mm to gas & water pipework and a 17th edition fuseboard in place.

any help on this would be appriciated

"Hello All",

This is just MY opinion about this type of situation:

Although a Boiler may be `Room Sealed` regarding the Combustion process meaning that the Products of Combustion cannot enter the Room that the appliance is located in - this does NOT mean that the Electrical components are in a `Room Sealed` position within the Boiler Casing.

Without researching individual models of Boilers to view the positions of the Electronic components - In general I would be VERY worried about STEAM getting onto the PCB and other Electronic / Electrical components if the Boiler is located in a WET ROOM / Shower Room !

And I would not be swayed in this opinion by the presence of Extract Ventilation - We must remember that Steam within a Room / Area behaves like the Vapour that it is in terms of possibly permeating into areas such as a Boiler lower casing / `Drawer`.

I hope that this is helpful to DPG / other Members / Readers.

Regards,

Chris

Aslong as your supply is ok.. Not your problem.. Y concern yourself withit?

The issue is surface tracking and polution degree. A wet room is likely to get very steamy and cause condenstaion in everything that is less than IPx6, anything that is only designed to pollution degree 2 could be subject to tracking over time.
