vinny electric

hi all im wiring a viessmann vitoden 200-w with the Vitotronic 100 HC2A constant temperature controller.
The system it is being wired too has two zones up stairs and down stairs and domestic hot water.
the plumber on the job said that this boiler with its controls can work without a external time clock i am wiring it in the s plan format.
i looked over the manual and cant see how this will work without a time clock to open the motorized valves for up stairs and down stairs
i know that there is a unit that needs to be connected to the cylinder for the domestic hot water. so that side not a problem its just the heating side. im sure other electricians have had this problem well i hope its not just me :38:

There will be a programmer and two stats wired into a wiring centre with the valves! Not familiar with the boiler but programmer/ wiring centre could be in boiler

Well something has to tell stats to open motor valves and fire boiler, so some proggy/clock there somewhere.

Have the stats got built in programmers

Does boiler have what looks like wiring centre built in as opposed to usual lne sl terminals

I think you will find this new boiler has the zone valves built into it and you just run a temp sensor to cylinder from boiler and the controller is also a programmer. Seem to remember but may be wrong

infact thinking about it if you put a supply to a room stat from terminal L of 96 then off through a valve and when valve opens feeds back into 1 of 96 then boiler will fire when that valve is opened as long as the controller says so..

Thinking about this some more,,, when the controller says heat then it will send a feed out onto terminal L of block 96. when it receves a feed back on terminal 1 it will moter the internal valve open and fire the boiler. normal combi type stuff..
if on the pipe work you fitted 2 port valves and wired them in series with this system through seprate stats. terminal 1 would not receve any supply untill a room stat closed and a valve opened.. at witch point the internal valve will open and pump only through the pipework whose 2 port valve has opened

ok got this in my head now, im assuming two valves for each zone, flow and return both controled.

for one zone ( the second will connect esactly the same)
From block 96 Terminal L take a feed out to the room stat, from that take the switched live off to brown and grey of the first valve, then take the orange of that valve and connect to brown and grey of second valve, then take orange of second valve back to terminal 1 of block 96.. this way both valves of one zone have to be open before boiler fires.

the second zone is done esactly the same.

edd thinking about what you said in you last reply that seems to make sense but do you think the voltage being sent out will be enough to open the motorized valves hopefully it is 240v and not 24v then ill just just take a neutral to the motorized valve separately it separately thanks for your time this job is for a guy who is very busy at the moment im hoping to get in working with them.

its showing as a 230v stat conection,, so I hope so,,if not it can be done using clean contact stats but lets worry about that if needed :)

ive just been brousing the instruction pdf :) if there is then there must be some internal pipe system to control it or some seprare stat conection for up and down, what ever way what i described above will work if its not internally plumbed for seprate zones, if it has two seprate stat inputs and not plumbed then just wire as i said but for each stat..
