Hi all,

Needing some advice - I have Napit coming out to asses me on friday but the work that I want to show to them, the incoming TN-S supply has a bonding clamp for its earth connection.

Looking at the Niceic books they say to put the supply on TT or get the board out. Bit late for the second... but should I TT( which would mean that I would also have to change the old board aswell, as it has 100m/a RCD) or does anyone know napits view on this????

Thanks

a "tenby" syle clamp isnt allowed on a SWA . however if the clamp is on the DNO side then contact them and tell them. if you have reported it and have a job No from the DNO and all readings are ok then you should be covered.

I am sure other members can help on this as well.

Im with SS on this as its the DNOs system and you shouldnt be altering it but Get the name /posistion of person you report it to Full name not just Jimmy in the mumbie call center

good luck with the napit btw

Not sure if NAPIT handle things the same way as ELECSA, you might get a non-compliance and have to provide proof afterwards of rectification. As others have said, its not strictly within your domain, however the installation earthing does rely on it.

as previous posts have said report the situation to the supplier and record what was said and by who ect..as I understand it different distributors treat such matters differently ( you may find that they agree to come out and rectify it, but I dont think they are bound by any regs to do so).
I would also ring napit and ask to speak to someone from the tech department, explain the situation and see what they say.
Is the Ze ok, and do all the Zs readings pass, is there rcd protection?
Part P states that on completion of your work the installation should be NO WORSE in the level of compliance, it also says that there is no obligation to upgrade the existing installation.

Good luck with assessment mate, hope you do well:)
